1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, accessing, or using PDF to Word (the “App”) or this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App or website.
2. What the App does
The App provides tools for converting PDFs, photos, and camera scans into editable Word documents. Conversion results can vary depending on document quality, layout, image clarity, language, handwriting, fonts, and other characteristics of the source material.
3. License and permitted use
Subject to these terms and any applicable App Store rules, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal or internal business purposes.
You agree not to:
- use the App for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes;
- interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to bypass security or access controls;
- reverse engineer or redistribute the App except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use the App to infringe another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights; or
- misrepresent the origin or authenticity of converted or edited documents.
4. Your documents and responsibilities
You retain whatever rights you already have in the documents and content you use with the App. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions to scan, convert, edit, store, and share that content.
You are also responsible for reviewing conversion results before relying on them. OCR and document conversion can contain mistakes, omissions, formatting differences, or recognition errors.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Some features may require an in-app purchase or subscription. Prices, billing periods, trial terms, and available plans are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by country or region.
Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. If a subscription renews automatically, your App Store account will be charged in accordance with the terms shown at purchase unless you cancel before renewal. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings. Refund eligibility is determined by Apple and applicable law.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App and website. It forms part of these terms.
7. Availability and changes
We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the App, including features, pricing, or supported formats, at any time. We do not guarantee that the App will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or document.
8. Intellectual property
The App, website, software, branding, design, and other materials we provide are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you.
9. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App and website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant the accuracy of OCR, text extraction, formatting, conversion output, or any result produced by the App.
The App is a document-conversion utility and does not provide legal, financial, medical, tax, or other professional advice. You should independently verify important converted content.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, business, or goodwill arising from or related to your use of the App or website.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it will be limited to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under consumer-protection law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the App, comply with law, or address a material violation of these terms.
12. Apple terms
If you obtained the App through Apple’s App Store, your use is also subject to applicable Apple Media Services terms and App Store rules. Apple is not responsible for providing maintenance or support for the App except as required by applicable law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above will be changed when we publish a revised version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
