1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how PDF to Word (the “App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App. It applies to the PDF to Word iOS app and this website.
2. Document processing
The App converts PDFs, photos, and camera scans into editable Word documents. Text extraction, optical character recognition (OCR), and document generation are performed on your device.
We do not send document-derived content to our analytics service. In particular, our analytics implementation is designed not to report:
- PDF, photo, or scan contents;
- filenames, document titles, or renamed-file text;
- extracted or recognized text;
- page images;
- file paths; or
- free-form text derived from your documents.
3. Analytics information
We collect limited product-interaction analytics to understand whether the App works and which features are being used. This information is not used for cross-app tracking and is not intended to identify you.
Analytics may include:
- session starts and app opens;
- onboarding screen views, completions, and answers selected from predefined choices;
- paywall views, dismissals, and the part of the App from which a paywall was opened;
- purchase and restore outcomes, including subscription cadence or product category;
- conversion starts, completions, and failures;
- whether OCR was used;
- a coarse document page-count range rather than the exact page count;
- app-defined error codes rather than free-form error messages; and
- feature-use counts such as scans captured, tabs viewed, and files shared, renamed, or deleted.
Our iOS privacy manifest declares product-interaction data for analytics, not linked to you and not used for tracking.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
If you make an in-app purchase or subscription, the transaction is processed through Apple’s App Store. The App may use third-party purchase and paywall infrastructure, including RevenueCat and Superwall, to present offers, check entitlement status, process purchase outcomes, and support purchase restoration.
Those providers may process technical, transaction, or device information according to their own privacy policies. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Apple.
5. Camera, photos, and files
The App may request access to your camera, photo library, or files when needed for features you choose to use. These permissions are used to let you select, capture, convert, save, or share documents. You can manage system permissions in iOS Settings.
6. Website data
This website is a static informational site. It does not include an account system or a document-upload feature. The hosting provider may process standard network information such as IP addresses and request metadata for security, reliability, and delivery of the site.
7. Data retention
Documents remain under your control on your device or in locations you choose to save or share them. Limited analytics and purchase-related information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, evaluate, and improve the App, or as required by law.
8. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age at which parental consent is required under applicable law. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through the App.
9. International processing
Limited analytics or service-provider information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such processing.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes. When we do, we will update the effective date shown above. Material changes may also be communicated through the App or other appropriate means.
